Employee Group Membership
Employers who are located in our membership counties, have their payroll generated out of any of these counties or are among the organizations that are identified in our field of membership are qualified to extend their employees a LIFETIME benefit of Credit Union membership. Community Involvement
Credit Union of America is very involved in the community. We believe in order to serve the membership, we must also serve the community. Our sponsorships, involvement, donations and contributions include:
- CMN (Children’s Miracle Network)
For over 20 years, CUA has been a strong supporter of CMN by: co-sponsoring fundraisers such as the annual radiothon and Change Bandits for Kids; volunteering at the past telethons; sponsoring double-plays at the local ballpark at 20 each to benefit CMN; selling ghosts and pumpkins at Halloween, angel dollars at Christmas and bunny dollars at Easter; holding Christmas bake and ornament sales; and of course all benefit CMN Kansas children and their families that are facing childhood illness.
- KAKE-TV School Supply Landslide
CUA is proud to partner with KAKE-TV, The Salvation Army, and USD 259 for this annual event and provide a drop-off point at all CUA offices for school supplies benefiting children of deserving families in the Wichita metro area.
Back-To-School Supply Drive
Similar to the Landslide, and partnering with The Salvation Army in Great Bend, Kansas, CUA collects supplies in July-August for children in Barton County.
- Wichita Supporting the Arts
CUA supports this worthy cause and provides a link to art events, artists and volunteer opportunities within a multitude of visual and performing art venues in Wichita. Check the latest happenings in the art world.
- Wichita River Festival
CUA staff volunteers selling tickets at the food court each year and CUA sells River Festival buttons at all offices making it convenient for our members to support this fun, local and nationally known festival.
- United Way
We are proud to announce to the community that we had 100% participation in 2004 by the CUA staff. In 2004 we received the Circle of Caring Award and the United Way Outstanding Charitable Support by Employees silver award. United Way has been and continues to be an important part of our volunteer efforts.
- Red Cross Blood Drives
In the past 8 years, we have participated in a bi-annual blood drive and donated over 227 pints of blood to the American Red Cross. We also participated in the Red Cross effort for Tsunami relief in early 2005 and have provided tornado relief volunteers after the Haysville and Hoisington tornadoes. At CUA we’re family and we’ll step up to help our neighbors whenever we can.
- Senior Services Inc.
Supporting one of our partner employee groups is especially rewarding when it’s a group that provides such needed services in the community. CUA sponsored SSI’s 2005 fundraiser, Jockeys & Juleps - a watch party for the Kentucky Derby, and approximately $20,000 was raised to benefit community seniors. We’re proud to have employees that have served on the board of directors and various committees for SSI over the past six years.
