We conduct interviews
You will be asked to interview with a Human Resource staff member, the Department Manager and/or Supervisor who has the job opening.
Skill/Ability
We require certain skills or abilities for the performance of each job. We have job descriptions that match that job. If your background or job experience does not match the job requirements, you will not be considered for the job.
Behavior Testing
Certain types of job testing may be performed depending on the job you apply for. A hiring decision will not solely be based on the applicant’s test results, but these tests provide valuable information/insight to help us determine whether the applicant is a good fit for the job.
Professional Appearance
Credit Union of America employees are expected to maintain a professional image at all times. In the area of financial management of our member’s money, the following are not considered to portray a positive trusting image:
- Body Piercings (visible - tongue, nose, lip, eybrows)
- More than 3 earrings for females, no earrings for males.
- Hair coloring that is of an unnatural color (green, blue, orange etc)
- Visible tattoos
- Revealing clothing (short skirts/tops/revealing personal items) or very casual clothing (flannel, sweats etc.)
Previous Employment Reference Checks
We request signing of a release for information from prior employers. Past work references reveal your ability to perform your duties, integrity on the job, and the skill levels that will translate to the job you are applying for.
Education Verification
We will confirm the education/prior training that you report to us on your application.
Credit History
We request signing of a release that will enable us to check your credit history. Multiple late pays or collection activity can prevent hiring, regardless of your experience/ability to perform the job. By law, we may not deny employment due to bankruptcy.
Criminal , Civil and Municipal Background Checks
Credit Union employees must be bonded by our bonding company. The bonding company will not insure anyone that has felony convictions, thus making them ineligible for employment.
Kansas Driving Report (if applicable to the position applied for)
We will request signing of a release that allows us to check your driving record.
Eligibility to Work
All applicants must provide proof that they are eligible to work in Kansas or the USA. That proof may consist of presenting a driver’s license, social security card, U.S. passport or other legal residence proof.
