Share Insurance
The share insurance at CUA, provided by NCUSIF (National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund) is similar to the deposit insurance provided by the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) and the FSLIC (Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation). Share accounts are insured up to $100,000.00, depending on the account ownership. The complete NCUA Insurance booklet, available at any branch, gives a more detailed explanation of insurance coverage.

Not one penny of insured savings has ever been lost by a member of a federally insured credit union. As a member of CUA, you do not pay for this insurance, CUA pays into the NCUSIF based on the total amount of insured shares in the Credit Union.
