With your SWITCH IT kit and a Personal Service Representative at any branch, we will make the switch simple, easy and provide you with all the necessary forms. We’re here to help and make this process smooth for you.
Here’s what you do:
Complete all the appropriate forms
We’re here to help you every step of the way, but some of the information required on the forms is only accessible to you. Make sure you provide accurate, complete information. This will speed up the process and prevent errors.
Open up your new CUA checking account.
Determine what type of checking you require (comparison chart) and bring your completed forms to any branch.
Write a check to open your new CUA checking account.
Remember to maintain sufficient funds in your old account to cover checks that haven’t cleared yet, debit card transactions, ATM transactions and automatic account debits that are pending. Your Personal Service Representative can assist you in determining what that amount may be and give you a sense of how long this process may take. Bring your current checking statement and your checkbook with you.
Here’s what we do:
- We will help you manage the switch. We will do everything we can to plan the process and resolve any questions you may have. We want the switch to be seamless to you.
- We’ll develop a calendar to help you plan the overall timing of your switch.
- We’ll help you calculate the amount you need to retain in the old checking and the amount to transfer to CUA.
- We’ll help you complete and mail all required notification letters to transfer all your direct debits, automatic credits and other identified transactions.
- We’ll phone appropriate third parties, if needed, to help assure you that the notification process is accurate, complete and on schedule.
- We’ll follow up on any individual transactions you desire to make sure each has been transferred to your new account.
- We’ll confirm the closing of your previous account.
- We’ll be there every step of the way!
