The Board of Directors, Credit and Supervisory Committees are made up of volunteer members who guide the credit union staff. These volunteers set the general direction and policy for the credit union, ensure the credit union is well managed, financially secure, in compliance with legal requirements and monitor the progress toward the stated goals of the organization. Volunteers are elected by the membership on a yearly basis with three-year terms. These volunteers provide guidance and service to both staff and members.
A credit union must be able to adjust to an ever-changing economic climate. Your personal experiences and technical background in business or a financial industry can help you lead the credit union in the right direction. Volunteers are generally grouped into four areas; 1) formulating policy, 2) communicating, 3) serving as trustees, and 4) ensuring the continuity and development of the credit union. If this guidance is something you would like to volunteer to CUA, contact our President today.
