The safety and well being of our members is very important to us. The following safeguards are in place at CUA and we routinely review our security policies and procedures and update as needed.
Share insurance at CUA is provided by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) and is similar to the deposit insurance provided by the FDIC (Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation) and the FSLIC (Federal Savings and Loan Insurance Corporation). Share accounts are insured up to $250,000, depending on the structure of the account ownership. The complete NCUA Insurance booklet, is available at any CUA office or you can visit the NCUA web site for more details on insurance coverage.
CUA is committed to protecting the personal and financial information of every member. We allow online account access by providing safe and secure methods of viewing your information. One of the primary tools used to insure internet security is by encryption. Encryption of your information is used every time there is an exchange of personal or financial information. This protective method is used within our online banking system, secure email, and any online forms that we offer that can be submitted to CUA electronically. Encryption is NOT used in normal email systems. We also use many other methods of security, including, but not limited to: passwords, secure socket layering, multiple layers of encryption, firewalls and filtering routers. We require the same methods of any business partners (third parties we might contract with) that we use to offer products and services to you.
Credit Union of America does not knowingly solicit or collect data from children. We do not knowingly market to children online.
Third Party Links
We do provide links to off-site products and services as a courtesy to our members. Once you leave the Credit Union of America site, we are unable to ensure that the same methods of security and privacy are used by the third parties you access.
