2017 John Michener Scholarship Winners
Credit Union of America has awarded eight students with scholarship funds from Credit Union of America’s John Michener Scholarship program for the 2017-2018 school year. Recipients include: Jordan Gaylord of Bishop Carroll – Cowley College ($1000), Jacob Hammil of Andover High School – University of Kansas ($1000), Ashtin Heath of Great Bend High School – Wichita State University ($1000), Andrew Kemp of Trinity Academy – Kansas State University ($2000), Abigail Roush of Friends University – Friends University ($1000), Madison Saucedo of Campus High School – Baker University ($2000), Ashley Sherrow of Derby High School – University of Kansas ($1000) and Olivia Tipton of East High School – University of Oklahoma ($1000).
Students were chosen by a scholarship committee made up of staff and volunteers. Recipients were chosen based on their grade point average, community/school activities and an essay on the benefit of becoming a financially literate individual.
