Community and/or School Involvement
In the table below, please list any of your community or school involvement activities, along with a description of the activity and the role you play. Please list up to four activities.
Please do not include school/church/sorority/fraternity or other area-specific organizational names in the activity table. For example, if you belong to Delta Gamma Sorority at Wichita State University, simply state “Sorority Member” under activity name.
John Michener was CUA’s founding father and leader for many decades. He believed in the importance of teaching financial literacy to our members and in our community. Financial literacy is the possession of skills that allow people to make smart decisions with their money. Why is financial literacy important to you as an individual and describe the goals that achieving financial literacy will help you meet. In a 500-word essay, please answer the following questions:
- What does financial literacy mean to you and why is it important?
- How will this type of knowledge allow you to succeed in the future?
- Please go to https://www.cuofamerica.com/Resources/Its-a-Money-Thing/Income-and-Taxes/Common-Money-Beliefs. Watch the financial literacy video, “Common Money Beliefs” and explain what advice you would give to help your family and friends be financially smart.
The online application and supporting documents must be received by 11:59 pm on March 31st. Winning applicants will be notified via email in April.
Please contact CUA at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 316.265.3272 x 165.
