How It Works
Change Jar for Charity is available to members with a Core Checking Account and CUA Visa® debit card.
1. Enroll
Opt in at any time by logging into Digital Banking and selecting Change Jar for Charity under your account tools. In less than a minute, you move from spender to supporter as you choose one of the following local nonprofits to receive your spare change:
- Kansas Food Bank — Provides food and essential resources to individuals and families across Kansas who are facing hunger.
- Project Teacher — Helps local teachers and classrooms by supplying educational materials that support student learning and success.
- Kansas Humane Society — Serves animals in need through shelter, medical care, and adoption services that promote animal welfare.
2. Spend as Usual
Use your CUA Visa Debit Card for your day-to-day spending. You can even set it up for recurring payments like your streaming services or utilities to maximize your impact!
3. Make a Difference
At the end of each day, the total spare change from your eligible transactions is automatically donated to your chosen charity.

What transactions qualify for round-ups?
Only CUA Visa® debit card purchases qualify. Transactions made using checks, ACH transfers, ATM withdrawals, or other payment methods are not included.
Can I use Change Jar and Change Jar for Charity at the same time?
No. You may only use one option at a time. You can switch between Change Jar and Change Jar for Charity through Digital Banking whenever you choose.
Will Change Jar for Charity overdraw my account?
No. Change Jar for Charity will not overdraw your Core Checking account. Donations are only made when there are sufficient available funds in your account.
How does Change Jar for Charity work on joint checking accounts?
If a checking account is jointly owned, all eligible debit card purchases made from that account, including purchases made by any joint owner, will be included once the account is enrolled in Change Jar for Charity.
Can I turn Change Jar for Charity off once I've already opted in?
Yes! In Digital Banking, you can easily switch Change Jar for Charity on and off. Please note that totals already authorized may still be deposited after the time of opt-out.
